I'm looking to replace the standard unit in my car for one that enables me to control my mp3 player through it. I'm quite taken on Alpine units but most just say 'Ipod enabled' or 'Ipod full speed feature'. would the mp3 connection on the back of the stereo be the same as an ipod one eg an aux socket? I'm a complete dumbass (no comments please!!!) when it comes to stuff like this so could anyone help me?

I've heard some good comments on the Alphine CDE-9850RI but from people who have only used it with their Ipod.

Looks nice Lisa, I am not sure exactly what the connection would be as I don't have an ipod. It suggests that it is specifically for ipod though so may be worth a call before you order.

I have always gone with Pioneer as I think the ones with the electronic equalizers give you amazing control over the sound it produces.
