I've contacted DAVE T ST, who knows this kinda stuff and he said....
It was originally called the Zetec SE. It's a Yamaha engine, the same as the 1.25.
Why are you asking Micky? Got some plans?
I think the 1.7 from the puma was yamaha engine as well!

You know me Kev have always goty plans The zetec se is a very un-tunable engine without spending mega money, When i lifted the bonnet and saw Duratec i thought it was going to be a bit easier. Just looking at options when and if i get some money together.

The 1.7 Puma engine is also a Zetec-SE yes with VVT and 125PS You can drop in a Puma engine then tune that to puma racing spec. That'll get you 160+ No mods needed to get it to fit either, just bolt in!! You would have to do some work on the PCM though as you would need to wire in the Puma one to enable the VVT functionality that your PCM does not support.
You would then fail MOT though unfortunately as the Puma was only Euro 3 emissions whereas all current Fiestas are Euro4

Though saying that, you could use the PCM from the current Focus 1.6 VCT (115PS)as that has the fuctionality for VVT, then you would get Euro4 emissions

Yes, sorry, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is the Engine ECU. The throttle body is in a different position to the Puma yes but that's due to the cheap plastic inlet manifold forced onto Fiesta V and the fact that they had to package in fly-by-wire throttle to strangle the engine but meet EuroIV emissions. The Puma is a cable controlled throttle.
You could adapt an aftermarket PCM but it would be cheaper to source the factory PCM from the donor car and adapt the engine bay harness to work it.
