Have any of you had probelms with the drainage holes on the doors? I've been driving to work all week thinking there was a bottle of water in the car....turned out the door was full of water? We've unblocked them for now.

I'm taking it into ford for them to have a look as I don't want it to rust inside the door. Plus they need to find out if there's anything in the door to cause the blockage.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same?

No probs with blockage, but I have been surprised by the amount of water that gushes out when I open the drivers door after a night of rain. It's like a fireman's hose!

Sometimes all drain holes have not been punched out so check them (should be three per door I think).

Its a fairly common problem actually and I do question the need for a door to hole such large ammounts of water.... why not just seal it up?!?

I also sometimes hear water sloshing around inside the door after its been wet, and also sometimes have to go around the holes to clear them out as they get dirt inside them. It does seem to hold a heck of a lot of water, I've had it before where I've had the door sitting open for five minutes or more waiting for it all to finish pouring out!!

Think you will find the anti rust wax solution ford spray in the doors is to blame for the blocked drainage holes at the bottom of each door, think theres two on each door, push a match stick up to clear the wax.

It took me about a week to realise it was in the door....me and my fella were going out bowling and I said to him I could hear water. We went to the bank and he rubbed down the holes and it started pouring out. Took about 1/2 hour for it to drain fully (passenger door). The middle hole isn't too bad now but the one on the left of the door still seems a bit blocked. I'll try and see what I can do...do you think it's worth taking it to Ford?

Ford will do the same thing by poking a thin probe up the holes, IF the weather gets hot again then you will find the wax will melt and block the holes again.
And so it goes on,and on,and..........
