Oh and btw the actual real reason behind it it's because of these strict emission policies the eu have or will be putting in place. Basically by the year 2015 or something be eu will put a fine to the company for evey car they build that does not meet te co2/kg regulation. How it works out is on the average co2/kg across the entire range of vehicles has to be lower than that set by the eu. So obviously the cygnet has a very low co so they're trying to sell lots of these to bring he average emission count down. Smart if it works out for them!
Hence reasons why a lot of companies are doing thaw hybrid technologies now so that they can prepare an get by. The one I'm pleased about the most is the Porsche 918 spyder that has a 500bhp v8 and two electric motors on the front wheels( to be powered like a kers system) with around 120bhp so combined thats 620bhp when used. Best thing is it has a co2/kg amount of around 80. So it's in the free tax range.
This is what makes engineers great is by developing new technologies making better cars and still getting one over any government that's trying to basically making cars
