currently there are several topics with very large pictures uploaded, taking far too long to view these topics and then if you come out they appear as unread again next time.

I understand your problems here. When we had the Image Uploader on the site, it was easy for me to reduce the size of pictures to a more manageable and viewable size for everyone, obviously I can't do this now. I wish I could say more on this, but I've no news, and cannot say at present when or even if it will return. If it were to return then I would start reducing images to a more appropriate size again.

With regards to the problem of topics coming up unread when you next log on, it's down to the way that cookies are used by the forums software, causing random threads to appear as unread when you've already viewed them. There is a simple way of overcoming this however. After you've read all the new posts on the site, click on "My Home" at the top of the page, scroll down and click on "Mark all read", then click "Mark all posts as read" on the next page. This should stop the problem.

Steve I think the problems with the pic sizes is recently since the uploader has been down I have been saving the pics the uploading them to my photobucket at a smaller size. 2 reasons for this. Firstly we won't loose the pics and secondly to reduce the sizes. I can only apologise for not doing it recently but I have had a hectic time recently and haven't had the time.

Hopefully in the next week or so I'll be a bit more active on the site again and be able to start getting on top of the pics and others things like write-ups again.

Sorry that this isn't helping you. It does sort all the unread marks correctly for me, and other people have said similar so I'd assumed that this fixed the problem for everyone. I'll have to have a look and see if I can think of anything.
