sorry firstly for missing the sticky on the main technical talk page;
http://www.fordfiestast.co.uk/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=52834&an=0&page=0#52834and thanks to those who took time to reply!
forgot to mention that im only got the car second had in feb!
So i took my 55plate ST to ford today armed with all nessary info
eg broadcast message 6269
and explained my point that alram had been sounding randomly for no reason!
to which they said Unfortunatly my car was out of warrenty and that if i wanted someone too look too see if it was the GEM module they wanted £126 for diagnosis!
but futher too that if it was that that had gone after they had investigated the then wanted i forget exact amount but no less than £600 for the part and labour of the GEM module
to which my response was agggghh lol i simply then asked as it was a known problem surely it was a recall?!
so they went off to ask a tech head out back and he said yes they were aware it was a problem but never had to replace one in the how ever many years the ST have been on the market for?!
couldnt tell if they where just fobbing me off as main dealerships never like taking responsability!
so know back to where i started
i dont really want to pay if it is a faulty ford part that they know is buggering up , but also understand that warrenty is long gone on my car
anyone have any ideas maybe regard a good will gesture?
