Hi all new here was wondering if anyone could help!

Tried searching on here but no one else seems to have the same problem!?
It’s my alarm it just goes off randomly.

Used to be more so when the interior light was set on door open and shut setting
has anyone else experienced this?

Could this be due to the key fob? There is a possibility..., but considering it went off this last weekend. When I had the key fob up in Leeds and when the car was park at home in London?!

Not yet had time to check charge level of my battery so unsure if that may be adding to problem?

Any help would be extremely grateful!

What year of ST is yours, the early cars had a problem with the alarms going off, and im sure i read somewhere that ford updated the GEM module software to stop this from happening. Your car might need the update at a ford dealers.

Actually this was a very very common fault on the newer "facelift" STs and they needed them GEM thingybob reprogrammed. You need to go to a dealership and get this done.

sorry firstly for missing the sticky on the main technical talk page;
http://www.fordfiestast.co.uk/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=52834&an=0&page=0#52834
and thanks to those who took time to reply!
forgot to mention that im only got the car second had in feb!
So i took my 55plate ST to ford today armed with all nessary info
eg broadcast message 6269
and explained my point that alram had been sounding randomly for no reason!
to which they said Unfortunatly my car was out of warrenty and that if i wanted someone too look too see if it was the GEM module they wanted £126 for diagnosis!
but futher too that if it was that that had gone after they had investigated the then wanted i forget exact amount but no less than £600 for the part and labour of the GEM module
to which my response was agggghh lol i simply then asked as it was a known problem surely it was a recall?!
so they went off to ask a tech head out back and he said yes they were aware it was a problem but never had to replace one in the how ever many years the ST have been on the market for?!
couldnt tell if they where just fobbing me off as main dealerships never like taking responsability!
so know back to where i started i dont really want to pay if it is a faulty ford part that they know is buggering up , but also understand that warrenty is long gone on my car
anyone have any ideas maybe regard a good will gesture?

Get in touch with ford customer service and explain the situation to them, they might offer to pay some of the cost as a goodwill gesture,Customer Relationship Centre on 0845 841 1111.

It's a software download that cures the problem.

They know what the issue issue is and that it only takes about 30mins to fix so i suggest you visit a few dealers to get the price down.

Some may do it for you for free if you have a service with them for example.
