i have a zetec with 17's on and its lowered 10mm. the rear wheels catch on the wheel arch a bit when you go fast over bumps or through pot holes but im getting that sorted. so you could do what ive done or you could try it without the lowering springs but that could look weird plus you havent got the stiff suspension then so it could catch even more!
