Read about this a couple of times, but not sure when cars starting having it. Do facelift STs have this?

I have an 06 facelift and it occasionally doesn't start first go. Usually goes second go, but sometimes have to have my foot slightly down on the throttle.

Any way I can check if its had the update?

Cheers,

I have an 06 facelift ST and have the same problem but can put up with it rather than paying Frauds £90!

I had this problem. I paid £20 cash in hand to a mate who works at ford to do it. And it worked fine. I have a 2005 pre facelift.

£90, bloody hell! Would this have been a warranty job? (When the car was still within the warranty period, I realise its out now).

However, I do have a Ford Protect warranty I bought with the car from the dealer, might try and get it done on that.

Only slightly, and only if it doesn't start without!

I had to blip the throttle to start it.
You should be able to get it if you bought it from there. I would throw a hussy fit and start shouting. it's a common problem with them and surely this should be done under warranty. Or manufacturer would cover it.
They tried to say to me they never heard of it so would have to charge £90 fee as standard just to plug it into the machine. Then I found a mate who worked there who did it on the sly.
