A question for the detailers!

Hi Guys!
This question is on behalf of the fella because his forum isn't being entirely helpful lol. He has a vinyl wrap bonnet in carbon fibre (it's kind of textured, not smooth and shiny) and was wondering the best way to clean it and give it a bit of protection without damaging it. I suggested normal washing with a decent shampoo and then possibly waxing? But honestly I'm not sure as I've never had a vinyl bit on my car lol.
Any help, much appreciated!
Amy x

Hi Amy Fist things first, great picture of your dog, love it. 2nd, washing with a normal shampoo is not recomended as over a period of time it can degrade and fade the wraps. Swissvax have made this following shampoo specifically for vinyl and matt paint http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/swissvax-car-bath-opaque.html.Again a normal carnauba based wax can also damage the vinyl, so again swissvax to the rescue with this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/swissvax-hand-crafted-carnauba-waxes.html. Although the prices are steep, it is well worth it in my opinion, swissvax know what they are doing and are currently the market leaders with matt paint/vinyl car care. Have a look at detailing world, they use these products often and great advice availiable. Another tip dont use a sponge, nice soft washmit. Hope this helps. Alex

+1!
It's the fairy liquid of the car washing world, costs more but smells good and last forever!
Got some Wilkinson's car wash & wax stuff for the gf's Mini, had to put half a bottle in to create any bubbles! ![](/images/graemlins/upset.gif)

Dan, I hope your joking about the fairy liquid?
That will strip all your paint protection and shine? Well it's gone and welcome plenty of swirls.
