Hey guys,
Looking at upgrading my head unit in my pre facelift car..

I know I have to cut the bars out to get a double din to fit but I have to do anything else?

I'm looking at getting

So do I need to buy anything else at all?

Do you need that cage thing to fit it then?

my headunit came with its own cage, that i fitted into that fascia i bought
you absolutely need the Fascia
I would expect a headunit to come with a cage if it needs one
you will need an adapter cable too, probably the one in that kit, but i bought it loose

I'm fairly sure the one I linked comes in a cage and the cable comes with it too, do I think is just the fascia I need

The double din unit i got didnt come with a cage! It seem that the lower end of the price scale the stereo is, the less likely you are to get a cage with it I had mine fitted in a shop and it looked a right bugger to do

Mine did so ended up with two in the end.
Think you will still need a cable on top of the one that comes with the headunit as they are specific for each car. I think this is the right one for the pre-facelift.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but this moth it seems I might be able to afford it!

I assume once the bars are cut you can fit a "standard" size double din heat unit (178(W)X100(H)X169(L)mm) so it's just a case of buying the fitting stuff that bacon ordered and having the bars away!
