I've phoned him company, and given his reg, and they've given me the same name as he did. They said if I fax a quote they will send it to their insurance company to sort out. I hope the alnguage thing doesn't complicate things.

No ,it shouldn't do, but you should let your insurance company do all the chasing for you, that's what you pay them all that hard-earned money for.

Just get them to get your car fixed but tell them beforehand that your not giving them any excess as it's not your fault as the car was parked. That will make them hurry up to get the money off the other's insurance. And get them to agree that it won't go down as a fault claim

It doesn't actually LOOK that bad, but all the gaps between the panels are different sizes.

I know it's an old post, but I thought I'd let everyone know that the insurance is STILL not sorted out! The car is fixed, but I've had to pay out. Hopefully it will be sorted by easter!

Good luck mate and keep chasing your insurance company! My girlfriend got bumped by a lorry whilst she was parked. Being the div she is, she and the driver looked at the point of impact and decided there wasn't any damage but exchanged number plates just in case(thankfully!). When she got home i inspected the car and saw that the indicator was cracked and the bumper was scuffed...derrr. c£350 worth of damage!!
Anyway, to cut along story short- dont ever use EGG insurance as they are pathetic, their lack of customer care is astonishing and they constantly failed to chase the 3rd party for the money. Over 12 months later the GF gets a letter through the door telling her that the offending lorry's owners have gone into liquidation and she wont be getting paid out for the damage. Lesson learnt. Always get the other persons full details, take pictures of the incident no matter how small it may see at first glance.
All the best

Cooperative insurance company are just as bad. Someone ran straight into my car 3 weeks ago (see noob post) anyway my insurance have done nothing in three weeks saying that they are busy with storm damage (the storm was only a week and a half ago!!!! shouldn't they be dealing with me first). Oh n they messed up n didnt give me a hire car because they got the details mixed up - the driver who hit me was also called fiona, when i called the insurance they said it was clearly my fault. After blowing several fuses they realised it was her mistake!! but no hire car because its after 14 days - didnt matter how much i argued. The moral of the story when i get an it will not be insured by CIS

Sorry to hear of all your insurance downfalls, but i have allways believed, you get what you pay for. I have been quoted less than £200 for my , all the way up to £1100. Under £200 sounded great but have never heard of the company (got it on a net search) So i went half way with a well known company. My wife was rear ended and the driver did a runner (uninsured obviously). My insurance was great. A courtesy car, no loss to NCB, and we were given £2000 compensation from the 'Motor Vehicle Bureau' for whiplash injuries, which i would never have thought about until the insurance sorted it. So. The cheapest is not allways the best bet.You don't know whats around the corner.

I'd agree that the cheapest is not always the best but equally you have to remember that insurance companies make money by not paying out! I went with Elephant on my 306 before moving to the ST but have transfered the policy to the ST. Not only are they competative with regard to price, but they also have very good service and have sorted out many issues in the past. My only gripe is that when I first moved to them I had an outstanding insurance claim (7 months since accident without resolution) and then when my no claims got updated the discount was £3.50 for the year
Still.... cheaper even with zero NCB compared to 1 year with other companies!
