I hate scum like this who dont bother stopping and ruin the rods for th rest of us. It makes me so angry that people could be like this, when people like us, who are insured and use the roads sensibly (I'm sure we all have our moments) have to folk out loads more for our insurance just because they cannot be bothered. T@$$ers the lot of them! Hope you can manage to get the car sorted.

Yup, it is annoying that everyones insurance is put up so high to cover the cost of all those that aren't insured. One of the problems is that even when they get caught, the fines given out are usually far less than what they would have actually paid if they had insurance, so they're still saving money! You'll only start reducing the number of uninsured drivers once they start getting properly punished ie. having to pay out in fines much more than what they would have paid if they'd remained legal.
I'm thinking the death penalty would be a good start.

It looks like I'll have to go to 's parts department tomorrow for the bad news . It could'nt have happened at a worst time because of all the bills are rolling in. I don't think I've owned a car yet that some fool has'nt damaged yet. I don't know of any ST's in a scrap yard but I suppose thats an option if I can locate one locally. Its probably some gipsy with no insurance - theres a few camps near by. They should get a giving driving ban for leaving the scene of an accident. I wish I could have got the tossers plate but it happened so fast, I did'nt stand a chance. My mate reckons I should report it to the police but what good will that do? Probably give me a crime reference number and tell me to sod off because I've got no number plate. Pisses me off Oh well its just my luck recently, everything seems to be going wrong. I'm sure I'll get it sorted one way or another I just hope I can put it back together again!

I got a new mirror...well a second hand one from DMS (Doncaster Motor Spares)which cost £35+VAT (£41.13) and I had the cap sprayed up for £20 notes from some guy that one of the lads at work has used before. Fitted it myself and it looks pretty much like it did before now. They had bloody reserved me a standard Zetec S mirror when I got there which is no good because it was not heated or colour coded. I think it's only available on the ST/GHIA. The guy at DMS looked at my car to check it and knew it was different so he went searching for 20 minutes and came back with nothing so I got him to check on the computer at other branches. Then he had another check and had a brain wave (thank god) and checked where they had put an ST body kit and sure enough he found one. There's other ST parts there if anyones looking for something in particular but its all red. Its a shame I did'nt get to see the car but I bet the owner is gutted. So all in it cost me £61.13 which is'nt too bad but it should'nt have happened in the first place and it works I bet it would have cost another £100 at the robbing gits! It was fairly simple to take on/off but the electrical socket is a complete arse to pull off because the catch does'nt always go low enough! I've stopped going down that road now when its dark which adds another 5 minutes on to my journey back from work but it could be worse next time.
