Hi im getting a new exhaust next week but haven't yet purchased it. I've found a few I like the look of but have noticed one the ones I like look of is a cat delete system. What are the pros and cons of these would anybody bother with them considering the hassle to mot them.

http://fordfiestast.co.uk/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/240669/site_id/1#import according to this it is a small difference. But if it would be a hassle for you to change before MOT it is best with sportscat I reckon. I have a milltek system with sportscat and is well pleased. only thing I have to do before MOT is to change back to original map. When I have the Pumaspeed 180 map the car fails on the MOT. So it is to high emissions.

Mine passes borderline after a few attempts with 200 cell, doesn't help that my MOT is in the middle of winter and I've had to defrost the car before taking it in on a few occasions.

isn't that very cheap for both back box and sportscat? Seems like there is normally almost 300 £ for just a sportscat. Maybe others have experience with Toyosport?

My exhaust bushes was kind of sloppy after a while so changed them into focus rs mk2 ones. Then the exhaust is not so loose anymore.

I got a milltek manifold on mine also. think the exhaust manifold is the most restrictive part of the original exhaust. But then it would be quite more expensive and harder to fit.

Yeah I did wonder about the price of it. I've never used a toyosport exhaust on any other vehicle I've had. I usually get them custom made from a local place to me but was looking into cheaper ones.I'm thinking about doing manifold later on in the year but short term wanted mainly a different note to what the original provides

There shouldn't be that weird bend after the cat that is shown in the picture of the toyosport one. I had to go custom for mine as I have different brands of manifold and cat back, it was £190 for the cat part and then labour on top.

My 200 cell passed the MOT first time no problem this week, I made sure I used cataclean this time and went for a good run to get it hot before the MOT, that might be why I had problems before.

Oh I see proba my wise to give it a miss then go for a different one but go sports cat and pay bit more to be sure its decent. Great news about your mot where do you get caraclean from. That's good idea going for a run before mot mines due march so thik I'll do same for mine

Yeah I only use mine for short runs which doesn't help either. Glad it passed as I didn't like having to back for re-tests on emissions and worrying about it not getting through. You can get cataclean from Halfords but it's cheaper online - EuroCarParts, Amazon or eBay for about £11

Okay I'll order some in advance of the mot from amazon or something then pay bit less. Not horribly priced anyway mind. I don't use mine overly often either so don't want the same issues at mot I'm a worrier anyway so having to book a retest etc will stress me right out

Update on the exhaust the Mrs ordered me the toyosport exhaust as a surprise with the sports cat. Have to be honest went on easy and really happy with the sound it produces. I'd say would be too loud for some but the note it produces in the higher revs is awesome.
