Quote: Which I find ridiculous. There are FIVE GP's till the end of the season. The championship should not be decided with a quarter of the season still to go.
It shouldn't be decided so quickly, but if it happens will be a repeat of 2011 when he won the championship with another four races remaining. As much as us die hards have still enjoyed the non-Vettel racing recently, it will end up hitting Bernie ultimately if things don't improve as it will be a turn-off for casual viewers if there's no competition. Less viewers = less money from sponsors.
Although we all hope that the rule changes will even things a bit next season my big fear with regards to Vettel dominating further is this: over the last few seasons, Red Bull have had a driver who although clearly not as good, is still someone who very much wants to win races and compete with his teammate. With Webber retiring, they had to opporunity to bring in someone who's already proven to be a world class driver in Raikonnen - but chose not to. This isn't meant as any disrespect to Ricciardo, as he may turn out to be an excellent driver in time... but... to me by not taking the chance to bring in Raikonnen it seems to send a very clear signal that they're not wanting someone who can compete with Vettel. That in turn seems to indicate that they're wanting Ricciardo to perform a similar role to various drivers at Ferrari during Schumachers dominance and be there purely to try and hold others up for long enough for Vettel to run into the distance.
