Indeed, with the way that many teams seem to be struggling financially, it seems that outside the top four - Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren obviously - they're struggling to employ drivers unless they're bringing finance with them. Look at what happenned to Lotus this season, where Raikonnen was overperforming to the extent that it was costing them money they hadn't got everytime he did well to the point where they simply reneged on his contract as they said they hadn't the cash.
